Our Mission
40 Roads has one overarching goal, to prepare and guide black professionals toward career excellence. From there, we ask, and prepare our mentees to themselves become mentors to the next generation of early stage black professionals.
The diversity we seek in the business world requires equipping professionals with a leadership foundation that will set them up to outperform expectations, set ambitious goals and create a new standard for others to follow.
Black business leaders who have successfully navigated the path to success, have a responsibility to educate a new generation of black professionals to not just stand out, but become the standard. 40 Roads devotion to this cause is the foundation of what we do.
Founder
Kevin Malone is an executive leader in the finance industry. With over 17 years of commercial and revenue experience, he currently serves as Senior Vice President at Morningstar, a financial services firm that works with the world’s largest asset managers, wealth managers and hedge funds. Prior to this, Kevin also worked in a commercial producer, and subsequent, leadership capacity with financial institutions like ISI Markets, Medley Advisors and Dow Jones.
Throughout his career, Kevin noticed a severe lack of black representation in the finance industry. As his career progressed to leadership, the lack of diversity only accelerated. In reflecting on his professional journey, there were many lessons learned along the way. Those lessons created strategies, paths and cadences that can, and should be shared with black professionals early in their career to help create a blueprint for career advancement and self defined success.
40 Roads was founded on the premise that there are many roads that must be traveled to reach one’s full potential. We are committed to helping black professionals achieve this through goal driven mentorship. There must be a heavy emphasis on black business leaders paying it forward to ensure that early career black professionals are equipped to outperform and excel.
